Severn Sisters – A True Community! — Anna Fine Jewellery

I have composed a pair of weblogs over the last several months that I didn’t truly publish. I’m not guaranteed why, but I’m going to just go with the thought that if I assumed they have been any fantastic, I’d have completed composing and published them!

Nowadays however, I do really have anything well worth composing about. It’s a story of true neighborhood and collaboration, of nuts concepts, tricky perform and plenty of love…

About this time las year (wow! It was that very long in the past, I just seemed it up!!) I was asked to be component of a team exhibition of artists that were being possibly influenced by or worked alongside the river Severn. I just about said no, as I normally found to be completely snowed below with commissions and in no way get any time to make anything at all other than that.

I didn’t say no though…I made the decision to commit to executing one thing, that had turn into just a minor exterior my convenience zone. I joined the Severn Sisters and we place on our first exhibition at 7Q Gallery in Chepstow.

The exhibition seemed amazing and fairly good revenue had been designed, but I want to convey to you about our “second” event….Open up House……

It was all the brave idea of Annie Brennan, who we have now all named our “mother superior”. An strategy dependent around equivalent exhibitions that she’d frequented/read of in town centres – all of the “sisters” placing on an exhibition more than a weekend, in her household. So, following some conferences, some snacks and a number of drinks, with no marketing spending budget and no concept if any person would appear, we made a decision to go for it!

Well… I think the only terms to describe this past weekend are resounding good results!! There have been 13 of us associated all with each other, and merely by some social media sharing and a little bit of leaflet printing on our household printers, men and women did obtain out at about it – loads of folks in truth! It just goes to show that if you set your head to it, and give your very greatest hard work, just about anything is probable!

For me although, the authentic good results has been obtaining this remarkable team of females (and just one token male of system) that have just been so supportive to each individual other throughout the organisation and the genuine event. Over the past handful of months, but particularly through the Open up Residence alone, we chatted about so quite a few issues and shared so several laughs. Theres definitely been hugs, but to be truthful, it feels like the Severn Sisters are just one large frequent hug. The way that the group just gelled was obviously found by our website visitors as just one of them considered that we all lived and labored jointly in Annie’s dwelling!

We’re all different ages, from distinct spots and backgrounds and have various sights, likes and dislikes, and that’s totally ok. I truly feel so privileged to have been requested to be portion of this incredible little group and I just can’t wait to start out imagining about what we do next!
