Being a successful boutique, business or jewelry owner requires a lot of discipline and balance. Let’s face it, the day never has enough hours, there are always 15 more things to do than time, the balance between work and family life is not always uniform, and the to-do list grows while you sleep!
Am I right about that?
So how do we make it all happen? How to please the customer, order the next line, take your child to football, do not burn the chicken and learn the latest update of the app you use most in a day? The recipe is a little balance and a lot of discipline!
Let’s review how to plan your day effectively to become a successful boutique owner.
Discipline is a mind game that consists of telling your brain exactly what you are going to do.
For starters, don’t postpone the alarm! Will those 10 or 20 minutes really give you a more rested sleep? Instead, consider this: look at your watch on your way to your business and realize you’re going to be 20 minutes early. Super, right? Have a coffee and arrive a little early, I assure you that your days, in general, will be more productive.
Now I want you to imagine that you’re literally running into your business because you’ve postponed the alarm for another 10 or 20 minutes. Now you’re running to get there, you’re walking on a nerve and you didn’t have time to stop for a snack. Discipline is a mind game that consists of telling your brain exactly what you are going to do.
Have breakfast and do your personal things!
The morning can make or break your day and this is where the balance comes in. Preparing your morning well can add balance to the rest of the day.
- Do “that” exercise routine, which requires little time, but is part of the “time for you”, which is very important.
- Listen to a podcast while you’re on the treadmill or running.
- Have breakfast and fill up with energy to start your day.
- Do all those domestic laps that you can intersperse between your business tasks in the morning to release the “to do” and that remains pending and that you have to do at night.
- Pay the bills in the morning so you don’t have it in mind all day.
¡Stay away from social media! There is no productivity in using social media before you start working, not even because it labels “you’re doing market research”.
Being disciplined in the morning can bring both personal and professional balance throughout the day.
Plan your day! Create a game plan that eliminates the “losing time” of the day. Start with a list that marks the items so that you can have a sense of accomplishment as the tasks are completed, my favorite verb is a non-existent one called: “beat the list”.
Make a master list of TASKS TO DO with what needs to be achieved on a daily basis.

- Daily sales
- Strategy and control of inventory
- Accounts payable
- Publications and content
- Live sale on your networks
- Video creation
- Whatsapp or email message campaigns
Organize and assign a day to each item:
Monday: Payment of bills / meetings / daily numbers
Tuesday: Publications & Content / Live Sales
Wednesday: Offer Day to Move Antique Merchandise / Inventory Strategy
Thursday: Newcomers / Live Sale
Friday: Style posts and videos / Message and mail campaign
Saturday: Daily Numbers / Ordering for Inventory / Live Sale
Sunday: Preparation Schedule for Two Weeks in Advance
¡Always be prepared and consistent! And of course, you can’t complete all tasks, so remember to delegate. Delegate smaller or larger tasks from your list so you can focus on the most important ones.
