ES: I am currently performing on a solo show titled “The fire in her eyes.” This exhibit as a entire is intended to be a commentary about the methods in which colorism, texturism, and internalized racism in the black local community have been greatly influenced by Eurocentric expectations of splendor. Some pieces will be visual translations of my lived experiences as a Black female in the United States. Other items will spotlight the energy, and sensuality of the black female sort although exploring themes of sexuality, gender expression, and self-acceptance.
